High in the mountains of Honduras, a group of remarkable women are rewriting the future of coffee farming. The Tierra Lenca Women’s Cooperative, founded in 2015, brings together indigenous Lenca women with a shared goal: cultivating exceptional coffee while uplifting their families and community.

A Foundation for Growth

Led by Aracely Martinez Gomez, President of the Cooperative, the group has achieved incredible milestones. “We are so happy and thankful to God and everyone who has supported us,” Aracely shares.

With the combined efforts of all its members and support from Grinders Coffee, the cooperative has built a vital communal space—a place that’s much more than bricks and mortar:

  • 🌱 Skill Development: Workshops in sustainable farming, leadership, and advanced coffee processing.
  • 🤝 Community Gatherings: A safe, welcoming location for collaboration and connection.
  • Operational Excellence: Centralised sorting, processing, and storage to improve both quality and efficiency.

“We have already built office space for all the women to use in this safe, pleasant location,” Aracely adds.

The Impact of Grinders Coffee

Through Grinders Coffee’s Single Origin range, projects like this are possible. Grinders is proud to support Tierra Lenca as they expand production, grow membership, and dream big—like creating their own coffee laboratory to enhance quality even further.

Aracely’s message is clear: the cooperative’s progress wouldn’t be possible without community and global partnerships. “Thank you, Grinders Coffee! We’re so happy and look forward to the day you visit us and enjoy a cup of coffee.”
