A little bit goes a long way

The ongoing events of 2020 haven’t stopped our drive to support those most in need.

This year, a team of cyclists from across Grinders Coffee strapped on their helmets and

helped raise funds for kids who endure the challenge of cancer treatment.

Endure for a Cure has been running since 2014 and raised $1.8 million for the Children’s Cancer Institute, the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to putting an end to childhood cancer.

Grinders Coffee has been sponsoring this event for many years, and this year a team of 10 cyclists rode a combined 251 laps, placing 6th place out of 20 teams and raising over $6000 for a great charity!

Sally Byrne, General Manager, Grinders Coffee, said the Children’s Cancer Institute are doing incredible things in research and development for cancer treatment. “The impact cancer has on young people, and their families, is life changing, and if supporting Endure for a Cure can help in any way, we are there.”

Cameron Bayfield, Corporate Partnerships Manager, Children’s Cancer Institute “2020 has been a year like no other for all of us. During these unprecedented times children have still been diagnosed with cancer, and 20 families are told each week “your child has cancer”.  The reality is that cancer does not stop, so neither can our vital research. At Children’s Cancer Institute we hold our signature fundraising events like Endure for a Cure to raise funds to ensure that we can continue our life-saving research to find a cure for childhood cancer.”

“In a year where so many events and fundraisers were cancelled, which has taken a huge toll on our fundraising, we were proud to be one of the only cycling events that was able to proceed. The long-term support and partnership of the Grinders team, both as event sponsors and also as a large team of 15 active participants and fundraisers, helped us to achieve our fundraising goal of over $320,000 and counting.”
